This is the 6th year for Dallas to host the Rocks Digital Marketing Conference. Attendees are in for quite a treat this year. We are still finalizing all the speakers, but right now we have 15 top-notch digital marketing experts confirmed, with 9 more in process.
From keynotes to presentations, break-outs, Rocks Talks and workshops, I can confirm that Rocks Digital is shaping up to be one spectacular event!
This digital marketing conference that began as DFW Rocks Social Media Day in 2012 has transformed into the must-attend annual celebration of Local Search and Social Media. Speakers and attendees will travel from around the U.S. and a few from much farther away. This year we even have a speaker coming from Pakistan!
Rocks Digital 2017 Will Focus on Local, Social and Mobile
As in years prior we’ll be focusing on Local, Social & Mobile. And as you are aware, the reason you must understand and learn about Local Search and SEO is to drive search traffic to business websites.
Getting visitors to a website involves leveraging methods such as social media, paid search & paid social, content creation & content marketing, and video. You need to fully understand all of these methods and how they intertwine with mobile. Why? Because we know that this is how consumers are getting their information these days!
- 54% of digital media time is spent in mobile apps
- 62% of digital media time is spent on mobile devices
- a remarkable 88 out of 100 searches on mobile are “near me”
At the 2017 Rocks Digital Marketing Conference, it is our mission to dive deep into these topics and provide attendees with this knowledge. And we’ll do just that starting on Thursday, June 29.
You’ll learn from the heavy hitters, those on the grind every day. Some names you’ll know right off the bat, some you won’t, but rest assured – they are the best of the best, the Who’s Who of the digital marketing industry.
What’s Different at Rocks Digital 2017
Each year I start the planning by reviewing the previous year: what the attendees liked, what they didn’t, and examining how to improve those experiences.
That process has produced a few changes to this year’s format:
- The conference spans 2 days, with the biggest day on Thursday, June 29 (I’m making it easy for out-of-town travelers to get on the road before the holiday weekend).
- Break-out rooms will accommodate 100 attendees and talks will be more focused (sorry, but the Biz Dev track is scratched off the agenda for 2017).
- Increased workshops: pushed from 5 to 9, and length goes to 90 minutes (workshops will have more action – bring your laptops and be ready to dig in!)
As with last year, early registration ticket purchases include workshop access. An additional fee will apply after the early registration period ends. The workshops were a hit last year and you will definitely want to take part in 2017.
The workshops on Friday, June 30 will focus on Paid Search, Paid Social, Google Analytics, On-Page & Off-Page SEO, Conducting a Digital Marketing Audit, and more.
Tomorrow I’ll start by announcing a keynote speaker, and from there will be announcing speakers and conference news for the next 30 days. You can follow all the speaker announcements by accessing this link directly or subscribing via RSS.
